Q: Am I limited to who can build my house?
A: We do have several “approved” builders under the Builders tab, however, if you have a preferred builder not listed, have your builder contact Acadia Plantation TND office for interview and approval.

Q: Do I have to choose only house plans that are currently on the website?
A: Although we have several new house plans to view, a prospective builder or homeowner may prefer to design their own plan in accordance with the requirements of Acadia Plantation TND. In that case, the process simply involves submittal to the Acadia Plantation TND Design Review Board for approval.

Also, please keep in mind, if you should see a house plan listed on our site that peaks your interest but not completely, this plan can be revised by one of our home designers. Periodically house plans designed by one of our home designers will be retired to prevent overuse or in the case of lack of interest.

Q: What are the building typologies for homes in Acadia Plantation TND?
A: Acadia Plantation’s Masterplan and Code Book state building typologies as follows: French, Acadian, Creole, Colonial Revival, Classical and Greek Revival. **  Please read "Architectural Standards" found in the TND Living tab for more detailed information on each of these typologies.  We have uploaded pages directly from the Acadia Plantation Masterplan & Code Book onto this website page. **

Q: What are the types of lots in Acadia Plantation?
A: We have two types of lots in Acadia Plantation; alley-loaded and front-loaded. Alley-loaded lots are smaller in dimension with a concept of “more house/less yard” and generally with courtyards. Our front-loaded lots are your traditional type lots with the driveway entering from the front street and tend to be larger in width and depth.

Q: What is the minimum square footages for homes?
A: Please keep in mind that there are no minimum square footages for a home construction on any lot in Acadia. However, each and every plan requires Review Board final approval before construction can begin and one of the considerations in granting approval is maintaining property values within Acadia Plantation by assuring that all houses are sized properly with a lot.
