Fournet & Fournet, A.I.A. and its predecessor firms have provided Professional Architectural Services to the Lafourche Parish area since 1952. Our work ranges from single and multi-family housing to business, religious, educational, industrial and medical facilities. Our larger projects include work for Nicholls State University, Thibodaux Regional Medical Center, Rouse Land Company and the Lafourche Parish School Board.
Our residential work centers on custom home design. Every residential client has specific wants and needs to be incorporated into the project. Fournet and Fournet is committed to providing client support in a way that makes the design process and subsequent construction more approachable. Every Fournet & Fournet home is client specific in its planning, code compliant in its structure, energy efficient in its systems and designed and specified for minimal maintenance and long term performance.
Fournet & Fournet is a father/daughter firm. Marcel Fournet, Jr. brings 29 years of experience as a licensed architect to each project while Jolie Fournet brings new concepts and innovations of a young graduate architect. Each project merges the strengths of each to produce designs that are practical, functional, structurally sound and superior in appearance and finish that will stand the test of time.
Also bringing new concepts of a young graduate architect, Myles Martin works as a design consultant. Having spent 3 years in the Northeast working for an architectural firm that specialized in multi-family residential construction, Myles recently moved back to New Orleans to help with the redevelopment of the city and its outlying areas.

GOMEZ DESIGN GROUP
About the Designer
“when I was 12 years old I delivered newspapers to 104 homes in Opelousas, La. Out of all these homes one dazzled my imagination” “PRUDOMME PLANTATION”, circa 1817
Les Gomez graduated from University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1980 with a degree in Interior Architecture. During and after his formal education Les was employed by two architectural firms in Lafayette before working as a home designer for a local builder for four years.
“laying bricks, framing houses, building furniture, I wanted to know it all, I wanted my hands to experience it all”
In 1985, he started his own Design/Build firm. Originally targeting the remodeling industry, the firm eventually moved into new home construction and historical restoration as the economy improved. In the 90’s, he served on the Board of Directors for the Louisiana Home Builders Association and the Acadian Home Builders Association and as President of AHBA in 1995.
“architecturally correct is important, but without considering people and their belongings; the main ingredients to why there is architecture, a building is just a structure. My education in interior design prepped my sensitivity to this.”
Now designing homes across the Gulf Coast, Les is quickly becoming known for designing southern homes for southern places. Mostly known for his designs in The Village of River Ranch, a highly publicized Traditional Neighborhood Development in Lafayette, Louisiana, is home for more than one hundred of Les’s unique designs. These home designs range from New Orleans Creole to Caribbean, with architectural influences of French, Spanish and African.
About the Staff
“without their devotion and their love of architecture this plan book would not have been possible.”
Three important ingredients to the success of Gomez Design Group are the members of the firm. Kerwin Theriot has a Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Southwestern Louisiana now University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Karim Zaoui has a Bachelor of Architecture at d’Architecture de Paris La Villette in Paris, France. Ryan Gomez, 4th year undergraduate at University of Louisiana at Lafayette, is pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Architecture.
Andy McDonald is a premier residential designer, whose elegant, award-winning work is changing the landscape of upscale neighborhoods throughout the South and beyond. His distinctive home designs, which result from his scrupulous regard for scale, balance and historical detailing, have earned him a national following and have made him a rapidly rising force in the home design industry. McDonald's sought-after classic designs are architectural gems with an unmistakable ambiance.
A native of Baton Rouge, Andy is a former builder, whose designs are grounded in his experience. He is a Certified Professional Building Designer, and an active member and state officer of the American Institute of Building Design.
Andy was influenced in his youth by the architectual heritage of New Orleans and South Louisiana, and spends much of his leisure time in search of significant architectural examples. His affinity for classic architecture was strongly renewed as he traveled through Europe. Of particular appeal to McDonald are the classic designs of Old World France, Spain and England. He is also captivated by the West Indies and Carribean influences, so evident in the architecture of South Louisiana.
